Delving into core geometry through trigonometry!

Welcome back after a long break! I was a little busy with some work at my college.

Previously when i posted about trigonometry, it was only a beginner's guide to trigonometry, and didn't cover all aspects and the deeper meaning and reasoning to learn trigonometry.

Trigonometry is often looked as the stepping stones towards geometry.

Trigonometry is the branch of mathematics that studies the relationships between the angles and sides of triangles. It is widely used in physics, engineering, and navigation.

Key Topics in Trigonometry:

1. Trigonometric Ratios – Sine (sin), Cosine (cos), Tangent (tan), Cosecant (csc), Secant (sec), and Cotangent (cot).
2. Pythagorean Theorem – $a^2 + b^2 = c^2$, where $c$ is the hypotenuse.
3. Trigonometric Identities – Fundamental formulas like $\sin^2 A + \cos^2 A = 1$.
4. Inverse Trigonometric Functions – Used to find angles when ratios are given.
5. Applications of Trigonometry – Heights and distances, wave functions, astronomy.

On the other hand,

Geometry is the branch of mathematics that deals with shapes, sizes, and properties of figures and spaces. It is divided into plane geometry (2D) and solid geometry (3D).

Key Topics in Geometry:

1. Lines and Angles – Types of angles (acute, obtuse, right), parallel lines, transversal properties.
2. Triangles – Types (scalene, isosceles, equilateral), congruence, similarity theorems.
3. Quadrilaterals and Polygons – Parallelograms, trapeziums, pentagons, hexagons.
4. Circles – Chords, tangents, arcs, sectors, and cyclic properties.
5. Mensuration – Area, perimeter, volume of 2D and 3D shapes.
6. Coordinate Geometry – Distance formula, midpoint theorem, equations of lines and circles.

Both subjects play a crucial role in mathematical problem-solving and real-world applications like architecture, physics, and computer graphics.
